2 Movies Not To Be Missed This Week

For the movie buffs out there, here are my recommendations for this week. Well that is if you haven’t already know…

X-Men: First Class (Opens 2nd June 2011)

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-MEN. Written by Twentieth Century Fox

Although this is a worldwide release, there are already a bunch of reviews on rottentomatoes.com already and from the scores given, it seems this movie is gonna be worth watching. An average of 7.9 out of 10 from 54 top critic reviews and only 1 gave a negative review of the movie. IMDB early reviewers gave good feedback as well, with most giving 8 to 10 stars, spoilers alert though if you gonna read some of their reviews.

The Hangover Part 2 (Opens 2nd June 2011)

Right after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu’s wedding. Stu’s plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry. – Written by IMDB

The first Hangover back in 2009 was a blast and very successful, not to mention it took away some pretty big movie awards as well, plus who could forget Alan(Zach Galifinakis)!  This sequel however didn’t sit as well in the critics room though, it got thrashed on rottentomatoes.com with a miserable tomatometer rating of only 35% fresh and a average score of 5.0 out of 10 from 191 reviewers. However, the audience rating had a 94% rating so it might be the critics are too hard on the technicalities of the movie. IMDB score averages 7.0 among 15,000+ votes which is pretty good for its movie genre. So I say if you want to have a good laugh this weekend, be sure to catch this fun comedy.
