Google introduces new Nexus 5X and 6P smartphones plus a bunch of stuff

Earlier today, Google unveiled on their official blog a bunch of new stuff. Without further ado, let’s go through the new gadgets and what this means for you.

Google Nexus 6P and 5X Android Smartphone

Comes in two sizes both made by different manufacturers – Nexus 6P by Huawei and Nexus 5X by LG. The new Nexus 6P is the first all-metal aeronautical-grade aluminium phone Google made, featuring a large 5.7″display with a powerful 64-bit processor and a 12.3-megapixel rear camera.

The Nexus 5X is a 5.2″ smartphone for those who prefer a less bulky phone to carry around, powered by a Snapdragon 808 hexacore processor, lightweight and compact with the same camera as the larger sibling.

Both new phones have a fingerprint sensor at the back and will be pre-installed with the new Android Marshmallow mobile operating system. The Nexus 6P starts at US$499 and the 5X at US$379, both are only available in the states and selected countries at this moment.

Google Pixel C

This is the new Google Pixel C tablet, resembles a lot like the Surface Pro and the new Apple iPad Pro. Full details on the Pixel C has yet been announced but Google says the new tablet is the first that they’ve built end-to-end.

Similarly to the Microsoft Surface tablets, Pixel C features a full-sized detachable magnetic keyboard and a touch-screen display. Google has also stated it will be similar to the Chromebook which means the new tablet will come installed with the latest Chrome OS.

No price revealed yet but you can sign up for updates with your email from the official Pixel C site.

Google new Chromecast & Chromecast Audio

Google re-designed the Chromecast with 2 new colours and making it easier to connect to the crowded USB ports on your TV. It also supports the latest Wi-Fi standards that adapts to the changing Wi-Fi conditions you have at home so there’s higher quality video and less buffering.

Google Chromecast Audio is small gadget with a design similar to the new Chromecast but plugs into your speakers instead of the TV so you can stream your favourite music, radio and podcasts over Wi-Fi. Works with lots of apps including Spotify, Pandora and Google Play Music. Chromecast Audio supports RCA, 3.5mm and optical inputs.

Both the new Chromecast and Chromecast Audio is priced at US$35 each.
