Xiaomi made a Cordless Vacuum Cleaner you probably haven’t heard of

The Roidmi F8 cordless vacuum now on Indiegogo

With Dyson dominating the cordless vacuum sales globally, it’s little wonder why Xiaomi want a share of the multi-billion dollar market.

For those unfamiliar, Roidmi is a sub-brand under the Xiaomi ecosystem which in the past produced a line of car chargers including a Bluetooth model on Indiegogo which attracted thousands of backers.

The company is back on crowdfunding platform with their latest product – Roidmi F8, a cordless vacuum that rivals Dyson popular models such as the V8 and V10.

Roidmi F8 specs are pretty impressive on paper. It features a powerful 18,500Pa air pressure, weighs just 1.5kg and has a quieter motor that produces only 75db noise. Perhaps the most important feature of all is its battery life – a whopping 55 minutes per charge, perfect for larger homes and offices.

Other features include a four-layer filtration system, a magnetic holder/charger, a photosensitive LED light on the vacuum head that lights up automatically when cleaning dark places and a mobile app that connects to the device. It also comes with a variety of brushes and tools for all kinds of cleaning purposes.

The Roidmi F8 is priced reasonably too. At just US$289 (S$385) (plus US$25 for shipping to SG) on Indiegogo, it is a steal considering a competing Dyson model costs at least two to three times more.

For those who already own a Dyson V8 or V10, the Roidmi F8 won’t be an upgrade for sure but for new buyers, you have a worthy alternative here.
