Singapore Night Festival returns with 17 different exhibits

5 zones across the Bras Basah and Bugis district will transform into a glowing wonderland starting this weekend.

That’s because the annual light art festival Singapore Night Festival returns for two weekends starting from 23 August (Friday).

Here are highlights from last year event in case you’ve forgotten how it looks like.

From sunset till midnight

This year, a total of 17 light art exhibits will take to the streets and buildings in Bugis and Bras Basah, starting as early as 7.30pm till midnight.

Here are some of the exhibits to look out for.

Keep Dreaming

Watch the National Museum of Singapore come to life as three mysterious characters awaken from their deep slumber to embark on an adventure.

Disco Walkway

Inspired by the unheard tunes of the city, Disco Walkway adds vibrancy to the Stamford Walkway with glowing neon-coloured cubes and music.

In:Sight

Admire the unique light art installations that not just transform SMU campus into an otherworldly space, but also add pizzazz to your SNF 2019 photo-moments.

Location: SMU Campus Green

Pulse

Interact with colourful visualisations which are generated via sound and music in this immersive experience that reflects on the influence of digital technology and media in today’s society.

Location: Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

Project:Dome

Step into this portal where the past collides with the future, and experience the symbiotic relationship between nature & culture.

Work-in-Progress

A scaffolding structure populated with animated light formations brings across endless possibilities of “imagination”.

Location: National Design Centre

The Legend of Ramayana

Inspired by the Asian Civilisations Museum’s collection of Nakashi Venkataramaiah paintings, the show takes the audience on a journey of the Sanskrit epic poem The Ramayana.

Waves of Time

Inspired by Singapore’s very own legend of a Prince who journeyed across the seas to visit Singapore, this façade projection on the historic CHIJMES chapel re-imagines the journey of the Prince chasing his dream to and around our island.
