New matcha drinks + Okinawa Brown Sugar Latte is back at Starbucks starting this week

Japanese tea and matcha lovers are in for a treat at Starbucks starting this week.

Available from 3 January (Thurs) onwards at all Starbucks stores in Singapore, the coffeehouse will be launching a new coffee beverage and two matcha ones.

What do they have in common? They are made with ingredients sourced from Japan.

Okinawa Brown Sugar Latte

Starbucks is bringing back one of the fan’s favourite – Okinawa Brown Sugar Latte. Made with Starbucks signature espresso and real Okinawa brown sugar, topped with whipped cream and more brown sugar drizzle.

Available as hot, blended or iced beverage from $7.60.

Black Sesame Pure Matcha Latte with Taro Foam & Pure Matcha Latte

Two new matcha drinks are making their debut at Starbucks this week.

The Pure Matcha Latte is a smooth, creamy and lightly sweetened beverage that’s made from microground matcha powder served with steamed milk. Available hot and iced from $6.90, plus you can choose to have yours totally unsweetened.

The Black Sesame Pure Matcha Latte with Taro Foam (phew!) on the other hand, is a blend of black sesame sauce and pure matcha topped with a cold frothy layer of purple taro foam. Also available as hot, blended or iced from $7.60.

Slurp.

Here’s the menu with prices so you can plan your order ahead.

You can also choose from dairy-free alternatives such as soy, coconut or oat milk if you are lactose intolerant.
