Highly-anticipated Joy Luck Teahouse (歡樂冰室) will open their doors to HK pastries and milk tea lovers on 28 August (Fri) at ION Orchard.
Located at basement 4 of the iconic Orchard mall, Joy Luck Teahouse will bring in famous Hong Kong snacks and drinks from shops including Hoover Cake Shop, Kam Kee Café and Tak Hing Fishball Company.
Owner and veteran TV producer Robert Chua reportedly spent a year negotiating and persuading the shops to bring the culinary treasures to Singapore.
They include egg tarts, pineapple buns, and milk tea.
Yummy.
In celebrating the opening, Joy Luck Teahouse will be offering the following promotions:
So good.
Here’s a quick peek at some of their items on the menu.
Hot Coke with ginger and lemon started off as a popular cold remedy in Hong Kong, but now it is a popular anytime drink. The cold and fizzy are gone, but you’re left with sweet, spicy, a little tart, a smidge medicinal—all things that would feel restorative on a cold day or in a stream of warmth going down a sore throat.
JLT’s special Eight Treasures Herbal Tea (Ba Bao Cha) is a drink that is safe to consume every day – it neither creates too much inner heat nor cools the body excessively – A perfect balance for the body from inside out.
JLT brought in the most renowned Hong Kong Fishball brand, Tak Hing. They are famous for their authentic Hong Kong curry topping fishballs and the shop is patronized by many loyal customers and Hong Kong celebrities who called them the “Hong Kong Fishball King”. It‘s secret recipe, where the freshly-made fish paste is smooth and soft in texture, with no flour and no additives added and the fishballs are quality fresh fish meat, and seasoning.
Can’t wait to try them all.
