If you haven’t heard, QR code scanning by phone camera or using identity cards to check in to venues will be phasing out soon.
TraceTogether App or Token only
Starting with cinemas from 26 October (Mon), checking in to cinema halls catch the latest films will strictly be by TraceTogether app or token.
Examples of cinemas in Singapore include Golden Village and Cathay Cineplexes.
The new measure, however, will be rolled out progressively and cinema operators will have to comply and fully implement TraceTogether by 16 November this year.
For those without a smartphone, TraceTogether tokens can also be used to check in to venues including cinemas. They are now free to collect for all local residents at Community Centres/Clubs or TraceTogether Mobile Booths located around Singapore.
Here’s how the token looks like.
If you have no idea how to use the TraceTogether app or token, here are a couple of video guides to explain.
By the end of this year, most venues including cinemas, hotels, F&B outlets, gyms and more will have to implement TraceTogether and visitors can no longer be able to gain entry by scanning SafeEntry QR codes with their phone cameras or NRIC barcodes.
