You can preorder the Mi Mix Fold now, Xiaomi’s first Foldable Smartphone with industry’s largest display

Prices starting from S$2,250 in China

Xiaomi’s first-ever folding phone will be priced over S$2,000

Xiaomi might be late to the folding phone game but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing since they could have ironed out the kinks that come with early models from other phone manufacturers.

Mi Mix Fold

Simply called the Mi Mix Fold, it is Xiaomi’s first-ever folding smartphone that isn’t just a concept and is already accepting preorders with prices starting from ¥10,999 (~S$2,252) for a 12GB + 512GB model on their official website in China.

While clearly not a cheap phone, it is jam-packed with new tech, features and the fastest processors and hardware available now.

Features of the new folding phone include:

  • Industry largest 8.01-inch WQHD+ display when folded
  • Up to 90Hz refresh rate with 180Hz touch sampling rate
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor
  • Xiaomi’s own Surge C1 Image Signal Processor
  • First-ever Liquid lens on a smartphone
  • Harman Kardon quad-speakers setup
  • 5,020mAh battery with 67W wired turbo charging
  • 5G network and Wi-Fi 6 support

You can view roughly how the phone looks like from their teaser trailer.

Mi Mix Fold will come in Standard and Ceramic Special Edition – the Standard version uses 5th-gen Corning Gorilla Glass back cover with ceramic texture while the Ceramic Edition features a gold middle frame and volume buttons, as well as a black ceramic back with special laser engraving.
