Xiaomi might be late to the folding phone game but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing since they could have ironed out the kinks that come with early models from other phone manufacturers.
Simply called the Mi Mix Fold, it is Xiaomi’s first-ever folding smartphone that isn’t just a concept and is already accepting preorders with prices starting from ¥10,999 (~S$2,252) for a 12GB + 512GB model on their official website in China.
While clearly not a cheap phone, it is jam-packed with new tech, features and the fastest processors and hardware available now.
Features of the new folding phone include:

Mi Mix Fold will come in Standard and Ceramic Special Edition – the Standard version uses 5th-gen Corning Gorilla Glass back cover with ceramic texture while the Ceramic Edition features a gold middle frame and volume buttons, as well as a black ceramic back with special laser engraving.
The smartphone will be priced at RMB 9,999 or 12GB+256GB, RMB 10,999 for 12GB+512GB and RMB 12,999 for the 16GB+512GB version, available for purchase in China from 16 April onwards.
In Singapore, there are already quite a number of resellers accepting pre-orders, with the lowest prices we found starting around $2,400 to $2,700 on Shopee.
