Xiaomi new series of Mi Pad 5 tablets will be the most powerful Android tablets in the market

A new Xiaomi tablet is coming soon according to leaks online.

Mi Pad 5 Series

The new tablet will be named Mi Pad 5 and will come in 3 variants – Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Plus and Mi Pad 5 Pro. According to reports, they will have displays between 10 and 14 inches.

The Mi Pad 5 will have a 2K 60Hz screen while the Plus and Pro models with a 3K 90Hz and 120Hz screen respectively.

Sales of the new tablet series will likely fall on the same day as the launch event, which is slated for 15 May next month.

Spotting a completely new design, the Mi Pad 5 tablets will come with an almost bezel-free design similar to the iPad Pro.

At the rear, it inherits the Mi 11 design and all 3 variants will come equipped with a triple-camera system that includes a 50mm telephoto and wide-angle lens.

In terms of processors, the tablets will be powered with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chips:

  • Mi Pad 5: Snapdragon 768G
  • Mi Pad 5 Plus: Snapdragon 870
  • Mi Pad 5 Pro: Snapdragon 888

Upon its release, the Mi Pad 5 Pro will take the crown as the fastest Android tablet in the market.

A new MIUI 12.5 is in the works and the new Mi Pad 5 tablets could be among the first few devices to come installed with it out of the box. There are also reports suggesting entire different MIUI for the Mi Pad tablets that will have powerful multitasking features.

Tablet Prices

In China, the Mi Pad 5 is expected to be priced from ¥1,499 (~S$307), Plus from ¥2,499 (~S$512) and Pro from ¥3,999 (~S$820). There are also rumours of a wireless stylus (similar to the Apple Pencil) that will be available exclusively for the Pro models.

Resellers on online marketplaces such as Qoo10, Lazada and Shopee in Singapore will likely be bringing all the variants in shortly after the launch.
