Japanese-themed McDonald’s outlet in Queensway closing down in Dec 2021 after 32 years

Oh no

Last chance: McDonald’s Ridout Tea Garden closing later this year

A lot of stores are closing these couple of years due to the ongoing pandemic.

One particular McDonald’s outlet in Queensway is closing too, but it isn’t due to the lack of crowd or Covid.

32 years old outlet

The standalone picturesque McDonald’s outlet that has a Japanese-style theme located in Ridout Tea Garden will be closing in December later this year after having operated for more than 32 years.

The outlet definitely has a place in many fans hearts who have visited it over the years.

Turns out it will be making way for new F&B and retail use with the land area already launched for tender by Singapore Land Authority (SLA) earlier this month. The site is also part of the Queenstown Heritage Trail.

The Ridout Tea Garden outlet is one of the oldest McDonald’s in Singapore, according to reports.

There’s still a good few months before it finally closes for good so drop by whenever you feel like having a Big Mac or McNuggets before it’s gone.
