Here’s a quick snack to enjoy right away if you can’t resist stinky tofu.
Plus, it costs less than three bucks.
Self-heating Stinky Tofu
Created by Chinese food manufacturer Zheng Yi Dao (蒸一道) which specialises in instant meals and snacks since 2015, you can now find their self-heating instant Stinky Tofu (老长沙臭豆腐) at Scarlett Supermarket located in Chinatown.
The supermarket carries a variety of China products and opens 24 hours daily.

The instant stinky tofu is priced at $2.60 per box, which is cheaper than Taobao’s price of ¥15.80 (~S$3.30).
Upon opening, you will find a number of ingredients packed individually. There’s also a self-heating pack which heats up water and steam-cook the food included.
Here are the cooking instructions:
- Pour the ingredients packs onto the stinky tofu tray
- Tear open the self-heating pack and place it in the bowl
- Pour the liquid from the water pack into the bowl
- Place the stinky tofu tray on top
- Wait for 12 minutes
- Enjoy!
So simple.
The stinky tofu will be cooked piping hot and ready to eat after that.
