Ah Pui Tiong Bahru Satay restaurant now open in Chinatown
For those who stay in Tiong Bahru, you will probably be familiar with the legendary Ah Pui Satay and his pushcart that draws crowds even before his arrival.
According to reviews online, Ah Pui’s charcoal-grilled satay meat has a thicker cut, has a distinct marinade and adds pineapple puree in the peanut sauce dip which is freshly hand-grated daily.
New restaurant outlet in Chinatown
After making appearances in cafes due to his pushcart being chased out of existence by the authorities, Ah Pui is making a comeback with his own cafe-style restaurant outlet in Chinatown.
It is located at 28 Smith Street and opens daily from 11.30am to 10.30pm so everyone can enjoy it anytime including during supper hours.
Here’s a peek inside the restaurant which features a chic interior design.
It even has a wall that is beautifully handpainted.
It’s not clear if the new restaurant is a collaboration but customers will likely be able to enjoy the same signature Satay dishes from the master Ah Pui himself.
