Coconut Special @ Prime Food & Grocer
Spotted by Facebook page Singapore Atrium Sale, Prime Food & Grocer supermarket outlet located in Century Square (Tampines) is now selling lots of Thai Young Coconut at a discounted price of just $1.90 each.
It normally costs $2.95 without the offer.
The Thai coconuts also look like they are uncut which some customers will prefer since it retains the freshness, although you will need to put the kitchen chopper to good use.
A quick search on FairPrice’s online store reveals that coconuts don’t come cheap, going for as much as almost $5.
This also means, at $1.90, it’s a steal.
Coconut Shake Recipe
If you are planning to make your own Coconut Shake at home, there are some recipes online that involves the following ingredients:
- 1 x Fresh Coconut (juice + flesh)
- 2 – 3 scoops of coconut ice cream
- A few ice cubes
Simply pour everything into the blender and mix it up till smooth and creamy texture.
For those who have trouble deciding which coconut ice cream to choose, you might want to consider Co Nut Ink since we find their coconut ice cream has the best taste without artificial flavours, colouring or preservatives.
However, do note they are a little costly at around $12 per pint, available at FairPrice supermarkets and online.
Only while coconuts last. You might also want to check other Prime supermarkets near you (map of outlets here) to find if they have similar discounts on Thai coconuts.
