McDonald’s fans rejoice as Ridout Tea Garden outlet continues to serve customers

Good news for McDonald’s fans and residents staying in the Queensway area – you can continue to enjoy your favourite McDonald’s breakfast and Extra Value Meals in the garden setting.

McDonald’s Ridout Tea Garden

Turns out the 32-year-old outlet is staying after all after Hanbaobao (McDonald’s licensee in Singapore) was discovered to be the winner for the tender on Singapore Land Authority (SLA) website.

Earlier this year, McDonald’s had announced its closure after SLA launched a tender for new F&B and retail use.

According to The Straits Times, the 57,000 sqft site was awarded to McDonald’s Singapore for its bid of $40,000 per month in rent. Although it’s the second-highest bid, SLA says bids are evaluated with half the score assessed based on the concept quality.

Continue to serve

McDonald’s Singapore has also stated it will continue serving regular and new customers in Ridout Tea Garden, which in other words they are staying so fans can continue to enjoy their favourite food at the Japanese-themed garden.

Here are photos of the place if you haven’t been there before.

Now you can head down at your own pace without rushing knowing that it’s going to stay.
