First look at 11 stations along Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 3 (TEL3) before it officially opens on Nov 13

From Stevens to Gardens by the Bay

Visitors get to travel for free along the 11 new TEL3 stations on 11 November

Residents and commuters along the Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 3 (TEL3) will soon be able to travel conveniently along the 13.2km train route.

The 11 stations of TEL3 will officially open on 13 November (Sun), benefitting more than 180,000 households that will be within a 10-minute walk from existing TEL stations including Woodlands North to Gardens by the Bay.

The new TEL3 stations include:

  • Stevens
  • Napier
  • Orchard Boulevard
  • Orchard
  • Great World
  • Havelock
  • Outram Park
  • Maxwell
  • Shenton Way
  • Marina Bay
  • Gardens by the Bay

Here’s a quick peek inside the new stations.

Stevens Station

Stevens Station is located along Bukit Timah Road. The station will improve connectivity for the neighbouring residential and educational institutions, including Singapore Chinese Girls’ School.

Napier Station

Napier Station at the intersection of Cluny and Napier Road is surrounded by landmarks such as the Singapore Botanic Garden, Gleneagles Hospital and the Australian High Commission.

Orchard Boulevard Station

Orchard Boulevard Station will bring further convenience and connectivity to commuters heading to the nearby malls and commercial developments. It is adjacent to Camden Medical Centre.

Orchard Station

Orchard Station is an interchange station, connecting commuters on TEL to NSL. It is located within the city’s main shopping belt and will improve connectivity for commuters travelling to and from the heartlands and the shopping district.

Great World Station

Great World Station is bordered by residential developments along the nearby River Valley Road and Kim Seng Road areas. The station will bring rail connectivity to the previously unlinked area which includes schools and commercial developments such as Great World City.

Havelock Station

Havelock Station is built underneath the natural green hilly site and is surrounded by the mature neighbourhood of Havelock Road. The station’s location was chosen to serve future redevelopment of the vicinity.

Outram Park Station

Outram Park Station is one of the three-line interchanges of TEL. It joins the existing interchange station, linking up TEL to the EWL and NEL. The station also features dedicated signage that points commuters to the dedicated exits leading to the Singapore General Hospital.

Maxwell Station

Maxwell Station, along South Bridge Road and Neil Road, is situated directly beside the Maxwell Food Centre and across from the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple.

Shenton Way Station

Shenton Way Station is located in the heart of the Central Business District and will enable commuters to travel directly into the downtown area.

Marina Bay Station

Marina Bay Station is a three-line interchange station connecting the TEL to the NSL and CCL.

Gardens by the Bay Station

Gardens by the Bay Station will serve commuters who wish to visit the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage areas, which were previously unlinked by rail connectivity.

Rail Day Out (Free Rides & Activities)

The public can also explore the brand new 11 stations along TEL3 on 11 November (Fri) as part of the opening event.

In addition to free travel along the TEL3 stations from 10am to 9pm, there will also be family-friendly carnival activities, booth games and stage performances including exclusive merchandise from Knackstop, special appearances from Thoughtful Bunch mascots and a line-up of celebrity hosts.

Visitors will also get a chance to become a train captain and try out the TEL train simulator.
